From there, continue into the park and begin a gentle introductory hike along the escarpment, with scenic views of northern Ethiopia’s foothills and plains and opportunities to see Gelada baboons. After the trek, you’ll proceed to Sankaber Camp for your overnight stay camping

Drive Sankaber to Chenek – Gondar

You’ll ascend to Bwahit Peak (4,430 m), the second-highest peak in the Simien Mountains, with chances to see the endemic Walia ibex and views toward Ras Dashen, Ethiopia’s highest peak. After taking in the scenery, you’ll descend back to Chenek Camp and drive about four hours back to Gondar for an overnight stay at Haile Resort Gondar.

Continue to nearby Lake Assal to observe salt flats and traditional camel caravans transporting salt across the desert. In the afternoon, drive across lava fields to the base of Erta Ale Volcano, then trek under the stars to its crater rim to witness the dramatic glow of molten lava. Overnight Camping

Fly Semera – Addis Ababa

You'll drive back to Semera and later drive back to Addis Ababa. Early in the morning, you'll have another chance to see the stunning sunrise at the volcano. After the visit, you will return to the base camp for breakfast. After breakfast, you'll start your journey back to Semera. You'll arrive in Semera for a late lunch, followed by a drop off at the airport back to Addis Ababa.
